A decade later Q reemerged fully from the shadows with the appearance of Dieter Luhrmann’s Die Redaktion der Logienquelle (1969). This was not simply the logical extension of redaction-critical method from the Synoptic gospels to Q; something more happened. Although Lührmann was rightly skeptical about the importance Tödt had attached to Son of Man christology in Q (1969:85–86; cf. Schürmann, 1975), Lührmann confirmed Tödt’s basic insight about Q by demonstrating that it had been framed without any
